- The round-trip transfer from a Hanoi Old Quarter hotel (07:00-08:00 pick-up, back about 20:00) is a booking option at extra cost. The boat leaves the Ha Long International Cruise Port; check-in is at 12:00.
- With the transfer it is a 12 to 13 hour day: about 3 hours on the road each way and 12:00 to 17:30 on the water, with lunch served on the way out to Thien Canh Son.
- Not included: drinks other than water, tips, personal expenses and travel insurance. Not suitable for people with mobility impairments: the cave is a climb up stone steps.
- The seller, Vietnam Tourism & Service, is a private company, not Vietnam's national tourism authority.
- Storms can close the bay at short notice, mostly June to September. Free cancellation ends 24 hours before departure, so ask the seller before you book whether a closure gets you a new date or a refund.
