Before you book

The itinerary names Tuan Chau Marina as the boarding point, not the Ha Long International Cruise Port that most cruises here use, so confirm the pier with the seller. Check-in is at 12:30.
Not included: the limousine from Hanoi (8:00) or Ninh Binh (7:00) at $25 a person, drinks, insurance and a $19 charge the operator calls government VAT.
Peak season, 1 October to 30 April, adds $13 a person. A single cabin adds $80, and Christmas, New Year and national holidays carry a surcharge.
The operator needs every guest's full name, date of birth, nationality, gender, passport number and visa expiry date in advance. Not suitable for wheelchair users: the cave is reached by tender and stone steps.
Storms can close the bay at short notice, mostly June to September. Free cancellation ends 24 hours before departure, so ask the seller before you book whether a closure gets you a new date or a refund.
